Electricians, plumbers, finish carpenters and general construction professionals sometimes need a tool that's built extra tough because their jobs require the power to repetitively make holes through wood or metal. The Panasonic EY7460LZ2S (EY7460X tool only) 1/2" drill and driver kit is built to take on the tough, repetitive tasks. The 21.6-volt, 3.1Ah power drill/driver delivers up to 575 in.-lbs. of full-time torque in low speed.
Its new all-metal gear system is much more resilient than the plastic gears found in other professional-level tools. It can take the strain and stress of switching between high and low gears and so it lasts longer and requires fewer repairs. The motor's fan design cools the drill/driver, even under repetitive, high-power jobs. The variable speed allows workers to ease into drilling and fastening tasks for greater accuracy and less work surface damage.
At only 9-1/8" long x 10-1/16" tall x 2-15/16" wide and 5.39 lbs. including battery, the tool can easily drill up to 1-1/2"-diameter holes in wood, or 1/2"-diameter holes in metal, or drive 3/8"-diameter wood screws or 1/4"-diameter self-drilling screws.
Its durable two-speed transmission allows workers to match drilling speed and power to the job. In low, it produces 100-400 rpm; in high, it produces 350-1,500 rpm. The 18-stage clutch can be set to engage from 8.8-61.0 in.-lbs. of torque in 3.0 in.-lbs. increments so the turning force can be fine-tuned to the job at hand.
The cordless drill/driver has a built-in LED light that illuminates the bit and hole location, and an electric brake prevents drill run-on after the trigger has been released. The heavy-duty keyless chuck makes bit changes easy, yet holds securely during drilling and fastening operations.

Tough and Long-Lasting Battery Packs
The cordless drill/driver, powered by Panasonic's 3.1Ah 21.6-volt Cobalt "Z" Li-ion battery pack. It is designed to deliver high output with low heat generation, providing twice the lifetime total performance vs. current Ni-Cd battery packs. The kit comes with the EY0L81B charger and two 21.6-volt battery packs. Using the supplied charger, the battery can be charged to a usable level in 55 minutes and fully charged in 70 minutes.

The EY7460LZ2S/EY7460X 1/2" drill and driver kit has an IP56 rating that proves the tool's toughness claims.
